Southern Nevada Speaker Series
The Lost City Museum and the Southern Nevada Agency Partnership Cultural Resources Team are kicking off this year’s speaker series featuring lectures and workshops about southern Nevada archeological projects. The first talk will be on May 4th at 10 AM at the Lost City Museum. Archeologist Kelly Turner will lead a workshop about the Archaeological Resources Protection Act and what constitutes a violation of this act. This workshop will also discuss the process that archaeologists and law enforcement officers follow to document and address the illegal acts.

Kelly Turner has been an archaeologist for over 30 years and has worked in numerous states throughout the central and western portions of the United States. She has been a state archaeologist with California State Parks, the park archaeologist with Death Valley National Park and has worked with the US Forest Service for 17 years, starting out as a crew chief and is now the District Archaeologist and Cultural Resources Program Manager for the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area.
